- The comparison I am noticing is switching from a non-Apple produced mouse to the Apple Magic Mouse. It is a significant relief. I was having unbearable headaches with the other devices. It was one mouse after another. So much I had to stop working out of frustration and have to accept the hardening lesson that Apple works better with Apple.
- Does anyone know how much Apple charges to replace a mouse? I'd like to know. If it's $40-$60, I guess I'll buy a mouse for less than that from someplace else. But if it's about $20, I'd like to just go ahead and order it.

As Donald stated, you can use any USB mouse. When I first got my eMac, the mouse it came with was defective. Short term I went to an office supply store and bought a Logitech 2 button with scroll wheel mouse for $10. Plugged it in and it worked out of the box, both buttons and scroll wheel.
I did get the Apple mouse replaced free, but I have never used it since I love the Logitech two buttons and scroll wheel. I ain't gonna go back to one buttom mice again!
That said, I do have a 'brand new' (as in never used) Apple optical 'single button' mouse that came with the eMacs. If you have your heart set on one, I would be happy to sell you mine. Originally these things went for $49 (I remember because I laughed at the price when mine went bad and I was looking into it). If you want it for $20 shipped, I would be happy to sell it to you (assuming I can locate it easily; must be in the old eMac box I bet).
